Sharp Has a Unique History in LCD Technology

--------------

It would be difficult to imagine back in 1915 when the “Ever-Sharp” pencil was invented that the Sharp Aquos would be another significant creation of the Sharp organization. LCD technology is something that Sharp has been known to be in the forefront with the use of LCD’s in calculators, as a viewer in camcorders, as a standalone 3″ color LCD television and the first wall-mounted LCD television. All of these innovations have had a large impact in the way that today’s viewing audience uses television technology.

On the SE94 model of the Sharp Aquos, you can connect to the Internet via an Ethernet connection and view “sidebar widgets” of the weather and stock market prices (as two examples) via Aquos Net. This connection also allows for Aquos Advantage Live which will allow a Sharp customer service representative to access your television and fine tune some of its setting remotely. The initial connection is started via a telephone conversation with the customer service department at Sharp. This top-of-the-line offering comes in 46/52/65″ models and are all Full HD1080p resolution.

The other models in the series are also 1080p resolution but do not offer Aquos Net and have other different values for specific features. To gain the most out of this technology, it is recommended that you view movies via Blu-Ray disc players and subscribe to a digital service for HDTV telecasts.

All models accept the preferred standard of HDMI connecting cables while others are supported and will vary from model to model. Before purchasing any new LCD television, it is advisable to take an inventory of any devices that you would like to connect to your set and ensure that you have the correct cables for connection. Your local Sharp dealer will do its utmost to ensure that you have the right package to get the most out of your new venture into television viewing.
